Why I built Nova

A few years ago I was a high school student with a lot of drive and no idea where to point it. I wanted to get ahead and build something of myself, but I didn't have the connections or the roadmap that seemed to come so easily to everyone else. I spent a lot of nights digging for opportunities that felt like they were hidden on purpose, and a lot of days feeling behind before I'd even started.

Money made all of it heavier. Paying for college was one of my biggest fears, and every time I looked into scholarships it felt so overwhelming that I mostly froze. There was help out there, but I could never tell which ones were actually meant for someone like me, or whether I had a real shot at any of them. So I did what a lot of students quietly do: I started telling myself that maybe those doors just weren't mine to walk through.

I built Nova because I don't want the next student to feel that way. It's the thing I wish someone had handed me back then, and the reminder I needed to hear: you belong here, you can start now, and you don't have to know the right people to get in. If it helps even one student feel a little less lost than I did, every late night was worth it.
